This place is not worth visiting. Firstly the waiter messed up my order, by adding on more food then I ordered.(Take away) Secondly the cost was very, very expensive in comparison to other curry take aways. Thirdly the food was not of a very high standard(average/less then average). I have eaten better currys in palmers green, for example the raj in aldermans hill is far better quality and much cheaper. Sorry but, Bombay Spice was a major let down. I came on this very site before deciding to buy my food there. What a big let down! Other negative reviews are more accurate on this site of Bombay Spice. Also the food had too much salt on it. 21 for a disappointing curry.
We've been going there, and getting carry-out, too, for about five years - and introduced all our friends. It really is in a class of it's own - the Macchi Tikka starter is my favourite Indian restaurant dish anywhere (and I've eaten in the West End places like the Cinnamon Club and Red Fort), and the Thalis are wonderful.
The best indian resturant in london and i've been to a bunch. The flavours and scent are faboulous. I take friends, family, and clients they all love it.
I'm sorry to say that these reviews which have been written below must of been by people without taste buds or by the owners. Where do I start? I always order 3 main courses for 2 people to have a variety of food. I am a qualified chef and I have a great sense of smell, vision and taste, nothing escapes me.We ordered a Murgh Nilgiri (chicken with green chillies). This was supposed to be spicy and was not, the chicken pieces were swimming in a watery green sauce, no taste whatsoever - dustbin! We ordered a Mix Grill. This had a chicken piece which was ordinary, a minced meat on a skewer, tasteless, and a King Prawn which didn't smell fresh, again straight to the bin.We ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala swimming in a watery red sauce again which was tasteless. We ordered a mushroom rice, rice was overcooked and selled from too much water and believe it or not, tasteless and mushy. The only thing eadible was thew Naan bread. Not recommended.
Bombay Spice has to be tried out since other sites have everyone raving on about it. I have been regular here since it opened and tried most of the Menu - I can honestly say the chef delivers consistently high quality Indian food that you don't get anywhere else.More good reasons are they came 3rd in the Tiffin Cup 2006 and Fay Mascheler has written a great review on them. The decor of the place is calm and modern and the service is great. Please make the trip to Palmers Green to try out this jewel of a restaurant.
